Conqueror of hearts. Slayer of boundaries. Purveyor of the avant-garde.

Theatre designer and maker, performance artist and questioning showgirl. Carletta The Great is one half of producing powerhouse team, The Great Debacle, committed to bringing bold, dynamic, and original entertainment to the audiences.

A design graduate from The Victorian College of the Arts. Carletta found her passion for stage design though her own experiences as a performance artist and a desire to connect with audiences through new visual, tactile and experimental mediums. Carletta continues to design and make set and costumes for dance, burlesque, opera, and theatre.

A world class performer with a flair for the avant-garde, Carletta The Great explores the art of tease with hints of feminist surrealism, humour, and cheek. With over a decade of experience she has created and performed in number of successful shows, most notably “Tease Mania – Melbourne’s Wild Night of Tease” and “Boon-esque”, a saucy burlesque cabaret exploring the pulp world of Mills and Boon novels. She is currently touring her latest one woman show “A Showgirl: Deconstructed” which takes a scrumptiously weird look behind the glitter curtain.
